Our Focus

Three interconnected pillars guiding our research and policy work

Democratic Governance and Information Integrity

We examine how AI systems shape democratic processes, public trust, and the information environment. We analyze risks associated with disinformation, synthetic media, large-scale persuasion, and automated narrative manipulation that can affect elections, institutional legitimacy, and shared understanding. The work develops analytical tools, early-warning indicators, and governance approaches to support democratic resilience and information integrity.

Economic and Institutional Stability

We focus on the implications of AI-driven automation, algorithmic decision-making, and concentration of technological power for economic systems and public institutions. We examine risks such as labor displacement, market concentration, brittle algorithmic infrastructures, and large-scale economic disruption. The research supports policy development, to strengthen economic resilience and continuity.

Human Agency and Social Systems

We address how the integration of AI into daily life affects human autonomy, fairness, dignity, and social relationships. We examine the impacts of algorithmic decision-making on individuals, families, and communities, including risks of dependency and erosion of human-centered social structures. The work advances ethical design principles, and governance frameworks to ensure AI systems support human well-being and social cohesion.
