Caryn Lusinchi, Director of AI Academy at the AI Ethics and Governance Institute (AEGIX), attended the 13th Annual European Cyber Security Conference, held on November 4, 2026, in Brussels, Belgium.
Organized by Forum Europe under the theme "Securing Europe's Digital Future," the conference brought together policymakers, cybersecurity professionals, industry representatives, and technology experts to examine Europe's evolving cybersecurity landscape and the challenges posed by emerging technologies.
Central to the conference were discussions on trusted information and communication technology (ICT) supply chains, European cyber sovereignty, technological competitiveness, and the increasing use of artificial intelligence in both cyber threats and defensive capabilities.
The program also examined the practical implementation of major European Union cybersecurity frameworks, including the NIS2 Directive, the Cyber Resilience Act, the proposed revision of the EU Cybersecurity Act (CSA2), the Cyber Solidarity Act, and the Critical Entities Resilience Directive.
Particular attention was given to translating regulatory requirements into operational cybersecurity strategies. Discussions explored how chief information security officers (CISOs) and other organizational leaders can strengthen cyber resilience, manage third-party technology risks, improve intelligence sharing, and prepare for increasingly sophisticated AI-enabled threats.
Lusinchi's attendance reflects AEGIX's ongoing engagement with the intersection of artificial intelligence governance, cybersecurity, and digital sovereignty. As AI technologies become more deeply integrated into critical infrastructure and digital ecosystems, effective governance increasingly requires coordinated approaches to security, risk management, regulatory compliance, and institutional accountability.
Through its research and international engagement, AEGIX continues to examine how governance frameworks can adapt to emerging technological risks while supporting secure, responsible, and resilient digital systems.
